Showtime announces two graduate internships

JUNE 13, 2000 Two of the graduates being honored at tonight’s annual awards dinner have been selected as the first interns in a new yearly program for Adham Center graduates.

Gulf DTH/Showtime CEO Peter Einstein announced the establishment of the internships during his appointment as an associate, or honorary faculty member, of the Adham Center. The first two beneficiaries of the Showtime internships are Effat Kamel, who served this year as the AUC TV executive producer, and Dana Zureikat. Both will be working with Showtime in London for three months starting in July.

Both Dana and Effat see this program as an ideal opportunity for moving from their Adham Center training into their careers. “Hopefully I will learn about various aspects of the Showtime operation, learn about the working cycle of a television company and develop a thorough understanding of the nature of this business,” Effat said. “I also hope that during my stay in London, I will be able to make connections that might lead me down a great career path.”

“The Adham Center not only educates and prepares its students to be qualified TV journalists but goes a step further in guaranteeing them a secure career path by putting them in contact with the industry's main players,” Dana said.
